How people from our area do egg donation with the Advanced Fertility Center of Chicago

  • First, come to our office for a consultation with Dr. Sherbahn
  • Pick an egg donor from our list of available donors. We contact the donor and set up a schedule for getting the donor egg cycle done.

  • Our "local" recipients of donor eggs have monitoring of the preparation of their uterine lining (usually 1-3 ultrasound tests are needed) done in one of our offices.

  • The male partner needs to come in the day of the donor's egg retrieval procedure in order to give us a semen specimen for insemination of the donor eggs.

  • The couple returns to our center for the embryo transfer procedure several days later.

  • We perform the embryo transfer procedure either 3 days, or (more commonly) 5 days (blastocyst transfer) after the egg retrieval.

  • We request that you have "modified bed rest" for the remainder of that day (day of the transfer procedure).
