Infectious disease screening blood work for both partners - costs are usually covered by insurance
Further testing prior to IVF (not required, except for couples wanting our money back guarantee cost plan):
Medication Cost
Medication costs can be as low as $1500 for a cycle, but average about $3000 and can be higher than this (rarely as high as $4000). The cost of the IVF stimulation medications depends on the particular drug chosen as well as the dose and duration of stimulation needed to get an optimal response from your ovaries. Insurance sometimes will cover the cost of in vitro fertilization medications.

Optional in vitro fertilization medications cost package plan | Additional cost $2700 per fresh cycle |

| Otherwise, meds are purchased by the couple from a pharmacy | |
Cycle cancellation during stimulation
For a cancelled IVF cycle (a cycle cancelled during stimulation and before the egg retrieval), our policy is to rebate all of the in vitro fertilization cycle cost except for $500 (cycle management fee) plus $65/blood assay and $175/ultrasound (cash discounted fees).
For couples that take the option of all medications included for a fixed price of $2700, when a cycle is cancelled before egg retrieval we deduct from the $2700 paid to us at fixed prices (according to the amount of each medication used) and refund any remainder to the couple.
Frozen embryo transfer cycle cost
If leftover embryos are frozen, our cost for thawing, culturing and transferring the frozen embryos (one frozen transfer cycle) is $2900.
How much does IVF cost? It should be a straightforward question. However, at some in vitro fertilization centers the answer can be confusing. Some clinics charge separately for the various portions of an IVF cycle. For example, there can be IVF related costs from the hospital, from the lab that runs the blood tests, from radiology where ultrasound might be done, from anesthesia doctors, and from the IVF specialist doctor. Be sure that you understand the total cost of the in vitro fertilization cycle before committing to the treatment at any clinic. The average cost for a complete IVF cycle in the US is about $12,000 plus medications. In large metropolitan areas it tends to be higher. There are some low cost IVF programs that charge significantly less than average. Some in vitro fertilization centers charge $20,000 to $25,000 for a complete in vitro cycle without meds. It is important not to equate cost with quality when it comes to IVF. Some in vitro clinics cost a lot but have low success rates.
Be sure that you understand the IVF pregnancy rates at any center you are considering. Further down on this page are links to the CDC web site (US government) that reports success rates annually for all reputable US in vitro fertilization clinics.

Full fees vs. cash discounted fees
All in vitro fertilization costs listed on this page reflect cash discounts at the Advanced Fertility Center of Chicago and must be paid in advance unless we have a written statement from your insurance company stating that they will pay for the IVF procedures.
"Cash discounted" IVF costs are for couples without insurance coverage, or those that wish to pay in advance and submit their own billing to the insurance company. Insurance companies generally will not accept a "package price" for IVF (there is no CPT code for it). Therefore, insurance is billed by individual procedures and the total amount billed will vary depending on exactly what is done during the treatment cycle.
The total billed to insurance (no cash discount) for all of the the IVF-related codes (without ICSI) is about $7500 at our center. The total that we bill to insurance for the ovarian stimulation monitoring during a typical in vitro fertilization cycle is about $2000.
Other pricing options
We offer a IVF cost option with a 100% refund of the medical costs if a live birth does not result. Up to 4 fresh IVF attempts and associated frozen embryo transfer cycles are included. There are restrictions - all couples are not eligible.
We also offer 2 plans with shared risk between the clinic and the couple. One IVF cost option with risk-sharing does not include the medications, and our other Shared Risk IVF Plan includes all medications. Up to 3 or 4 fresh in vitro fertilization attempts and associated frozen embryo transfer cycles are included in these plans, and a refundable amount is given back to the couple if there is not a live birth. There are some restrictions - all couples are not eligible.
We offer 3 different cost plans for in vitro fertilization with donor eggs:
Coming to us from out of town for in vitro fertilization
Many
couples travel here from other areas to have their in vitro
fertilization services. If you do not live in the Chicago to Milwaukee metro areas,
